Questions

Everything you might wonder.

What is YourLastNote?

A quiet place to write a letter to someone you love, and have it delivered when it matters. You write it once. We keep it safe. It reaches the person you named, either on a date you choose, or if one day you are no longer here to say the words yourself.

When is my letter delivered?

You choose, when you write it:

On a specific date. Your letter is delivered that day, and nothing else is asked of you.

Only if you are no longer here. We check in with you from time to time. If you stop answering, your letter is delivered. This is the right choice for last words and legacy letters.

How do the check-ins work?

If you choose the "no longer here" option, we send you a quiet email every thirty days with one button: "I'm still here." A single tap resets the clock. If you don't respond, we remind you again on day thirty-seven and day forty-four. If we still hear nothing, on day forty-five your letter is delivered to the person you named.

What if I'm just on holiday and miss a check-in?

You have plenty of room. There are three reminders across more than two weeks before anything is sent. One tap on any of them resets everything. A normal trip will not trigger a delivery.

Can it be delivered by post, not just email?

Yes. When you write, you choose email or post. By email, it is sent automatically and privately. By post, our team prints your letter and mails it by hand to the address you gave, so the person can hold it in their hands. Both cost the same.

Who can read my letter?

If you choose email delivery, no one reads it but the person you named. We do not open it, and we never use it to train anything.

If you choose postal delivery, our team reads it for one reason only: to print it and mail it. We never share it with anyone but the recipient. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

Can I edit or delete my letter later?

Anytime. Sign in and your letter is there to rewrite, change the recipient, change the delivery date, or delete entirely. Deletion is final.

How much does it cost?

Forty-seven dollars, once. No subscription, no renewals, no hidden fees. You pay a single time and your letter is kept for as long as you need it.

Do I need an account to start?

No. You can write your whole letter first, with no account. We only ask for your email when you choose to keep it safe, because that is how you sign back in and how we check in with you. Your email is yours, not the recipient's.

What happens if the recipient's email or address changes?

Addresses and inboxes change over the years. From time to time we check that the details you gave still work, so that when the day comes, your letter actually arrives. You can update them anytime by signing in.

Is this available outside the United States?

Yes. YourLastNote is available worldwide. Email delivery reaches anywhere, and postal delivery can be sent internationally.
